Basketball success
The U14 basketball squad were in full force yesterday, off the back of a win against Bourne at home, facing an informed Bishop Luffa. In the first quarter, momentum was with Luffa after converting a number of lay ups. Towards the end the reds pulled it together and due to strong defensive efforts from Harry T, Alfie and Ceaser keeping Luffa at bay, we managed to get one back by the end of the quarter. The next two quarters were a reds domination, Harry W slotted 6 layups assisted by Alfie, Thomas and Adrian; Adrian scored a 3 pointer with such ease he looked like he put it in from under the hoop; and Alfie put away another two lay ups putting the reds in control moving into the last quarter.
The Captain, Ylan, after taking an unfortunate knock, was unable to play the last two quarters. Despite being injured he coached his side making tactical decisions and calling formation changes live which facilitated many of the points scored. After the third quarter the captain gave one message – "keep your cool, this is our game!"
The buzzer went… final score 29-20 to CFS, another win to add to the streak and a performance to be proud of.
