Basketball Tournament Success
Boston has the Celtics, san Francisco has the Warriors, Houston has the Rockets……… but nothing comes close to the CFS Orcas.
Today the Orcas travelled in their pod across the vast sea of the A27 to Chichester High School where they would play in the Chichester and District U14 Basketball competition. The Orca is an animal that is unpredictable, yes it can be tamed, it can be made to jump through hoops and perform various tricks but its most important characteristic is its teamwork to defeat its prey.
1st Prey of the day was Bishop Luffa ‘bishops’ and the Orcas swam together to create a sub-surface wave, in fact not one but wave after wave to dominate with ease and come away with a big margin, big scores from Adrian ‘swoosh’ Palinski and Thomas ‘night’ Knight putting Luffa away.
2nd meal of the tournament was against the might of the Bourne ‘Badgers’. Big drives from Adrian, Ylan and Ceaser meant that the Badgers could not get a routine going and the Orcas capitalised on this to drag the Badgers down to the depths of the sea of loss. Big shout out to Stan ‘the man’ Craddock who played with real passion to shut down attacks from the Badgers and Archie le Roy Parker being everywhere on the court.
2 from 2 and coach Dean, Coach Edwards and GM Tilling salivated at the other big guns of the tournament, The Chichester High School Walrus’s. Always known for being the big animal on the block the CHS Walrus’s came onto the pitch with a lot of noise already assuming that they had won. They treated the Orcas like the tame fun loving, harmonica playing pets that is oftern depicted on films. What a mistake. Adrian straight from the tip off ran the length of the court and sank 2. As the final went on the Walrus’s came back to within one. ‘Swoosh’ tried a 3 pointer but it came up short but Knight sank another 2. The Walrus’s now looked tired, there intial confident energy had gone and suddenly they respected the Orcas but it was too late. Ceaser ‘the rock’ Trussler Carter was on top form shutting down every free snack being offered to the Walrus’s. If they wanted free food (points) then this was not the game to have it. Five seconds to go and the Walrus’s ran hard but were shut out again and again. Final score CFS ORCAS 8: CHS Walrus’s 7.
First Tournament done for a long time and we beat everyone. The ORCAS are loose in the wild Seas claiming the top spot.
