CCF Summer Camp
The CCF are back after the summer holidays. Our first parade went extremely well with a fantastic attendance of Year 10 & 11s as well as ten new Year 9s. As a contingent we will now parade every Friday on our new beautiful school premises from 15.30 - 17.00. It was a wonderful sight to see our cadets in the courtyard of the Convent, a sight we have been waiting to see for a long time.
The cadets had a fantastic summer, they spent a week at Crowborough Summer Camp where they took part in all kinds of activities to name a few: kayaking, mountain biking, archery, an overnight camp at Pippingford Park, 25m range, shotgun and raft building at Bewl Water. The last full day of camp was 'competition day'. This gave the cadets a chance to represent their school in competitions that covered the subjects and activities they had experienced over the week. Chichester Free School came home with a Gold Medal for 'Night Vision'. A huge well done to all our cadets, this was a superb achievement, even more so with it being our first ever Summer Camp and a newly formed CCF. It was clear to see upon arriving home on the Saturday that all cadets had gained so many wonderful experiences from the camp which had increased their personal confidence and cadet knowledge.
This term we will be focusing on a syllabus of Drill, Fieldcraft, Military Knowledge and First Aid. We look forward to our next event in October down at Longmoor where the cadets will spend a day out on the ranges.
Enrolment for Year 9 cadets is still open, for further details please contact the School Staff Instructor, Gemma Le Roy on [email protected] or 01243 792690
