EYFS Goodwood Farm Trip
Our EYFS pupils had a truly memorable couple of days at Goodwood Farm — full of fun, learning, and new experiences! The excitement began as we boarded the coach, with many of the children experiencing their very first coach ride. Spirits were high as we set off on our farm adventure!
When we arrived at the farm, we were warmly welcomed by the Goodwood team, who guided us around the many fascinating areas of the farm. We met the cows and learnt that some are kept for milking while others are raised for meat. A real highlight was visiting the baby calves — some were only a few days old!
At the milking station, we discovered how the cows are milked, where the milk goes, and what it’s used for. The children were curious and engaged, asking lots of brilliant questions.
Later, at the farm’s education centre, we learnt all about crops — how they grow, what conditions they need, and what happens to them after harvesting. We even planted our very own mini wheat field to take home and grow — a perfect hands-on learning experience!
In the afternoon, we enjoyed some time to run and play across the beautiful meadows. We visited the sheep and their adorable lambs, and explored the orchard where we learnt about the fruits and trees that grow there.
Throughout the day, we spotted all sorts of impressive farm vehicles, including some enormous tractors — much to everyone’s delight!
It truly was a fantastic adventure, filled with fresh air, discovery, and lots of smiles. Thank you to everyone who helped make this trip so special!
