More table tennis success
Our fantastic table tennis players made their way to Warden Park school to compete in the County Table Tennis Finals on Friday.
After the success in the West Sussex West round, we knew our strengths and the boys have been training hard to improve their weaker areas.
First up were Tanbridge House B. A comfortable 7-1 victory, with the CFS players all playing confident table tennis. Nothing was stopping Ylan's forehand topspin and Ted's positional play was unbeatable.
Then it was time for local rivals, Bourne. CFS had previously beaten them in the earlier round, but from watching the warms ups we could see they had been working on their skills. 5-3 win for CFS, with Jamie's tactical awareness too good for the opposition.
CFS finished top of the group and were through to the final. Tanbridge A were our opponents, a team not to have been beaten for several years. The boys were slightly nervous. The first two games were against boys with county rankings, and despite playing their best, CFS were 2-0 down. Then it was time for Charlie to outclass his opponents, winning both of his games in the final. Final score Tanbridge House 6 - CFS 2. Some very close games and on another day, this could easily have been 4-4.
The organiser commented on their excellent sportsmanship and fantastic game play. All 4 boys were fantastic!
