Thank you Tesco!
Yesterday the Chichester Extra Store Manager, Rachel Kelly, Services Manager, Stuart Rose, and Karen Jelfs Smith, the Community Champion came to CFS to award us a giant £5k cheque after winning the Golden token event in September.
The Chichester Extra store was one of 100 stores that were selected to hold such an event; it was linked to our Tesco Stronger Starts programme, which features the blue community tokens. This is run in conjunction with Groundwork.
On the day of the event, one golden token was in a bag with 99 blue tokens; customers were chosen at random to pick a token from the bag. The customer that picked the golden token was then asked to choose a favourite from the 3 projects that were being promoted at the time, in theStronger Starts programme and the winning project won a prize of £5000. CFS was chosen and the win was celebrated by a confetti canon!
At Tesco their core purpose is 'Serving their customers, communities and planet a little better every day'.
Tesco said "CFS's application for funding for their Breakfast Club to support the disadvantaged pupils in their school community is a perfect example of how Tesco can help the community."
Thank you so much Tesco.
