Year 7 Rugby success
Like Medieval times soldiers went out to do battle and CFS’s new Year 7 band of troops travelled to the home of Bishop Luffa to play in a mini tournament.
Local rugby giants of old Chichester High School, Bishop Luffa and The Bourne attended and what a feast of rugby entertainment we were given.
First up and CFS played Bourne. CFS rolled out the calvary and Sword drew first blood trundling up the pitch with 2 would-be tacklers hanging on, his low centre of gravity making it almost impossible to tackle him, it would take 3 players to jump on him to bring him down. Monty De Bathe linking play with Jamie Twine dancing and spinning around players to great effect. Multiple massive hits from CFS wounded the Bourne and constant raining of arrows broke their defence and CFS won 4 tries to 2.
Next were Bishop Luffa, pleasantries exchanged and it was game on with Hastings battling through dominating players like a bowling ball does to pins, multiple runs, multiple players sat down and a try in the corner. Luffa came back and it took a huge hit from Rueben to not only put the player into touch but also take out a Bishop Luffa sub. The game finished 2 - 2.
Last game and it was original rugby powerhouse Chichester High School. This was the game to play, how would we fair against the counties top team? Put simply we played the ancient tactic of “feigned flight” running backwards to lure in the opposition to make them think they had us, they were so wrong. We hammered Chichester High School 6 - 0.
No Tapestry required for this famous battle field, none needed. The Year 7 team have a number of players who play club rugby. What does this mean? We will compete more and more in leagues and County Cups claiming more scalps and taking more trophies…... CFS is going places, take note.
