Year 8 Science Museum Trip
Yesterday our Year 8 pupils spent the day at the Science Museum in London. They had a great day discovering the importance of the steam engine during the industrial revolution. Then they explored space and found out more about the race to the Moon.
Students then took part in the Interactive technician's session where they enjoyed practicing welding, recording and editing short videos, while others discovered suggested careers.
There was also the brilliant Medical Science and History of Medicine gallery: where students explored and discovered the development of surgery and anatomy with a real dissection's table displayed, and learning about endoscopes and scans. They also were able to explore how to mitigate infectious diseases, identifying if items were contaminated..
We went up in the sky with the history of flight from the Wright brothers to watching the modern-day Red arrows and we also found out more about the history of Mathematics.
A wonderful day had by all and thank you to the staff that went on the trip and a huge thanks to our three parent helpers Mrs Cath, Mrs Leitz-Smith and Mrs Pascoe.
