Year 9 Forensics Morning
We are excited to share the thrilling experience Year 9 had during their forensics morning, where they stepped into the shoes of forensic scientists to solve the murder of Mr Angell. The session was a hands-on exploration of forensic science and our pupils showed incredible curiosity, teamwork, and determination throughout the day.
The investigation included:
- Chromatography: Pupils analysed the ink from a note found at the crime scene to identify who had written it.
- Hair Sample Analysis: They compared strands of hair to determine their origins and narrow down suspects.
- Blood Splatter Analysis: Using patterns and physics, pupils deduced the events that occurred during the crime.
- Poison Detection via Flame Testing: This chemical analysis revealed the presence of toxins.
- Fingerprinting: Pupils matched fingerprints from the scene to identify potential culprits.
- Suspect Interviews: By questioning the suspects, pupils pieced together motives and alibis.
Thanks to their outstanding investigative skills, Year 9 successfully uncovered the murderer: Mrs Wilson! Their efforts, attention to detail, and scientific problem-solving were nothing short of impressive.
