Young Farmers Event
Primary and Key Stage 3 NFU Farming event
Years 3 to 8 were fortunate to have been invited to a talk by some local Sussex farmers this half term. The purpose was for the farmers to engage pupils in British farming, outline their journey into the industry and look at the variety of careers that exist within it. It was excellent and very interactive from the start, with seeds, hay, manure and haybale black wrapping film being used around the audience to mark various points. A big thank you to Phil Veltom and Tim Lock who gave up their day to speak, and to NFU Mutual who organised the event through their Farmers for Schools project. A video of the event was recorded by NFU Mutual but has yet to be released.
